I had to create a VM for searching some 6TB (that is 3 years of mails for 800 users) of mails from a NAS storage. I installed <a href="http://virtualbox.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">VirtualBox</a> on a desktop with <a href="http://linuxmint.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Linux Mint </a>19 with 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD. Then created a VM for Windows 7 with default configuration. The size was only 32GB which was much less than what was needed. I couldn't spare much time as the search request was very urgent. After a 3 week search ordeal the Windows 7 guest OS crashed which made me search for VDI resizing in <a href="http://duckduckgo.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">D</a><a href="https://draft.blogger.com/null" target="_blank">uckDuckGo</a>. I got the below command from <a href="http://VBoxManage modifyhd YOUR_HARD_DISK.vdi --resize SIZE_IN_MB">ASKUBUNTU</a>.<br />

So something struck me like I saw in the disk resize option in <a href="http://microsoft.com/windows" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Windows</a> 7. So I headed to the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management option and saw that 60GB odd was left as unpartitioned space. So I right clicked on C Drive and saw extend option. The extend option gave me the full available space. Click Next two times and viola the total 100000MB was converted to 99GB.<br />

By the way I restarted the VirtualBox before the Guest OS resize.<br />

Ever since last Wednesday (24 July 2013) when I got the information that the Android 4.3 will come to my <a href="http://www.google.com/nexus/4/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nexus 4</a> and <a href="http://www.google.com/nexus/7/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nexus 7</a> I was trying the update and nothing came through. That why I toady searched and found the below procedure from Internet. So after several tries I went through the 6th step which nobody had mentioned the update came through. Happy to see me using the latest Android which is 4.3 on my Nexus 4. When I reach home today I will try this procedure on my<a href="http://www.google.com/nexus/7/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Nexus 7 3G 32GB</a> and update you all.<br />

1. Go to Settings -> Apps -> All<br />
<br />
2. Find Google Services Framework.<br />
<br />
3. Tap on Force Stop.<br />
<br />
4. Select Clear Data.<br />
<br />
5. Once cleared data it will ask for location settings confirmation. Select confirm.<br />
<br />
6. Shutdown and restart the device. (<b><i>most of the people who have mentioned this procedure didn't mention this part. Only because I did this part the update worked</i></b>)<br />
<br />
7. Head back to the Settings, go to About, and check for a System Update. (<i><b>you can see that your last update checked date as 1/1/1970</b></i>)<br />
<br />
Most probably the update will be found and will be downloaded and upgraded. Please let me know by comments below if you had this procedure worked.<br />

Today I had to find a solution for a user to backup/copy his folders to a USB drive. Instead of using backup utilities, I wanted to try my luck in VB script. As usual Google'd and found hundreds of scripts. Took codes from several of them and compiled one which will copy folders from one drive to another with prompting the user that it is copying. The script creates an archive folder if it doesn't exist. Create a folder with the date and puts data inside that. So in case one of your backup is corrupted you will have date wise copies of your data.<br />

You must do the following to ensure that the YouTube Record from webcam feature works:<br />
Log into your YouTube account <br />
Ensure that you have a working webcam built into or connected to your computer <br />
Select allow if asked to permit YouTube to access your camera and microphone <br />
Once you have taken these preliminary steps, you can easily record and publish your webcam video.<br />
If you don't see a picture in the record section, you may need to choose a different video source from the video drop down in the Record Video window. <br />
Once you see a picture coming from your camera, click the Ready to Record button to start recording your video. <br />
When you're finished recording, click the red stop button. <br />
You can preview your video before uploading by selecting the Preview button in the recording window. <br />
If you are satisfied with your preview, click Publish to upload your video, or select Re-record to start over. <br />
When you click the Publish button, your video will automatically be uploaded to YouTube and begin processing. You can edit information about the video by going to your <a href="http://www.youtube.com/my_videos">My Videos</a> page.</div>

Today I noted that the Keio Connect mail server had thousands of error.log files with 75MB size filled up in the server. As always Google gave the answer.<br />

The error looks some what like below.<br />
[10/Aug/2011 10:49:35] SQLiteDbWriteCache.h: write_thread - file '/path/to/file/<user>/.journal.db', SQLite error: code 1, error SQLITE_ERROR[1]: no such table: journal_temp<br />

The solution is as below<br />

1. Delete the cache from the client's workstation<br />
2. Delete the profile<br />
3. Stop the server<br />
4. Go to the server and navigate through the user's store folder<br />
5. Delete the .journal.db (for Linux it is <i style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: red;">find . -name "FILE-TO-FIND"-exec rm -rf {} \;</span></i>)<br />
6. Start the server<br />
7. Create a new profile for the clients workstation<br />
